I don’t even know where to start with writing this testimonial. To cut a long story short, before Sabina I saw 3 prior therapists. From wrong diagnosis to inefficient therapy, it took until working with Sabina to realise my true problems and feel better. I am relatively young, but I had been living with OCD unknowingly for years of my life - Sabina listened to me and truly understood my situation. My anxiety has been really overwhelming recently. It seemed to come from nowehere and really knocked me - affecting home, work and even my health. On a friend's recommendation, I got in touch with Sabina.
The work we have done has been invaluable and I now have a “toolbox” of strategies which I can turn to when I am struggling. It was great to have this time to learn about the way brains (not just mine!) work and realise why I sometimes feel anxious and how I can cope with it. After having a few different kinds of therapy in the past, I felt pretty hopeless about a phobia that I had been struggling with for almost 10 years. However, after therapy with Sabina, I am now in a place where I don't have to plan my life around this fear. It has not magically gone away, but I have already achieved things I genuinely never thought I would be able to and have learned from Sabina how to be my own therapist and continue to challenge and move on from my anxieties.
After having only two face to face sessions, the therapy switched to virtual meetings (due to the pandemic) and although this could have meant that the therapy would be limited, Sabina found many ways to work around this and even use it to our advantage.

I first came to Sabina seeking help for OCD. When I first came to Sabina I was very scared and confused as to why I had so suddenly started to have such horrific intrusive thoughts, none of which I could identify with. The thoughts were so horrific and scary that I often thought it would be better not to be alive rather than live with these horrible intrusions. Sabina instantly knew that this was a form of OCD.
She very quickly helped me realise that I was engaging in certain behaviours/rituals that I thought would make the thoughts stop. However these behaviours were just making the thoughts more intense and frequent.
She helped me to understand in order to reduce the intensity of the thoughts/anxieties then I needed to stop engaging in these behaviours/rituals. The way in which I was able to overcome these behaviours was by conducting biweekly experiments to challenge the intrusive thoughts and to prove they are nothing more than noise in my head. These experiments are always set up in a structured way where I can clearly see the results and outcomes of doing them.
I am now equipped with the tools to manage my OCD should it flare up at any point. I have had sessions to manage my OCD every 2-3 weeks. Sometimes the gap between OCD treatment sessions have been slightly longer as I have also been working on social anxiety issues.
Through working with Sabina I have been able to gain a deeper sense of self awareness that has enabled me to go through life with increased self confidence and positivity.
Aside from her expertise in helping me overcome OCD, Sabina is incredibly adaptable and will notice when perhaps other issues may need to be addressed in that session- this has been lifeline to me especially throughout the pandemic and numerous lockdowns.

I started seeing Sabina a year ago as I was suffering post Covid anxiety and panic attacks. I couldn’t drive on a motorway, go on tube, train or plane. All this from a well travelled journalist. Often, leaving the neighbourhood was a challenge. Sabina diagnosed me with anxiety and panic disorder and set out a highly structured plan for recovery.
CBT sessions with Sabina are a bit like being in the classroom - with your favourite teacher. You have to pay attention, learn the strategies she outlines and do your homework. She doesn’t let you get away with things. You have to be honest with yourself. It’s not mindfulness (which I have also practiced and knew was not enough to get me to the next stage). With Sabina I gained a deep insight into how my mind and body work together and how they affect my behaviour.
She encouraged me to expose myself to triggering situations through a series of ‘experiments’ and here I am, writing this from the seat of an aircraft. My first solo flight for two years.
